Wolfpak 32-001 DESERT SLUFS
This is Wolfpak Decals’ first 1/32 sheet and it contains markings for four A-7D Corsair IIs. Unless noted, all of them are in the early SEA scheme with the light grey undersides, which is appropriate as these are all fairly early in the A-7Ds life. For kits, there is but one that that is the version from Trumpeter, which has been much maligned by the modeling experts, but those I’ve seen built look great.
First is an aircraft from the 57th FWW based at Nellis AFB. This one is an early aircraft without the upper fuselage refueling receptacle.
Next is one from the 355th TFW painted in overall gunship grey (FS 36118) used in a money-wasting fly-off against the A-10 in 1974.
The third options is from the the 310 TFTS,/ 58 TFW based at Luke AFB. This is also an early plane with the USN type refueling receptacle.
Finally, another Luke AFB based A-7D. This one is also from the 310th but with the yellow fin stripe often used by the 311 TFTS.
